Zach ’16

Check out this Senior!  If you have been to a Springfield High School football game, you may have spotted him.  His cheering section consistently contains his family, including his sisters, not only at a football game but also in life.  Zach has a solid head on his shoulders and is surrounded by a solid support system.  Here’s to a bright future, world changer!

Carissa ’16

As parents, we all aspire to raise our children to be true to themselves, loving, kind and world changers.  As for Chad and Rhonda, they raised Carissa to be just that.  Her genuine smile, sense of humor and faith make her a solid role model to many, including my own daughters.  The long awaited Senior year is finally here and we were able to capture the beauty of it during our recent session!  Enjoy the mini-gallery!

Mr. and Mrs. Rasor

It was an honor to take part in capturing Cara and Mike’s wedding.  I’ve known Cara since she was 12 and can remember the first time I talked with her on the phone.  It has been fun to watch her grow up and now to marry the love of her life, and to officially welcome Mike into the family!  As her and Mike stood in front of family and friends and vowed their love and commitment to each other, my vision would go blurry.  At first thought maybe my camera was out of focus, but then a wet tear ran down my cheek.  The joyful tears were seen across the room as Jeremy, the officiant, declared “I know pronounce you man and wife”.  The celebration continued with plenty of dancing, story telling and memory making.  Here’s to a happily ever after Cara and Mike!

To add all the photos from their day would be quite the endeavor, so please enjoy this mini-gallery for the “highlight” reel.  To view a picture larger, simply click on it.

Kristin+Josh=LOVE

The rain held off, the scenery was perfect and Kristin and Josh made my job easy as I captured the love between them!  The giggling, the laughing, hugging and kissing…no doubt about it, this couple is in love!  Here is a mini-gallery of a few of the pictures from the shoot!  Enjoy and thanks for stopping by!

Not Your Average Photographer

Being a photographer has been one of my favorite hobbies. Especially as it has developed over the years and into what it is today. I have the opportunity to see so much through my lenses; to capture split second moments that people will treasure for years. Capturing smiles brings joy to my life because “smiling is my favorite” – thank you Elf. But not all pictures bring happy feelings; some bring memories of sorrow and pain that I have also seen through my lens.

Those split second moments that you treasure for years to come?  I have many of my own that I cherish because it is all I have. My husband and I are blessed to have two beautiful daughters to share life with and watch them grow up. They are the subjects of many of my photo shoots because they are stinkin adorable and are growing up quickly. I also have two other children I have been blessed to meet, yet in our meeting our “hello” and “goodbye” were too close together. And for those short hours that my husband and I had with them, I needed to capture all I could. Through my lens I captured two babies that wouldn’t grow up in our arms, that wouldn’t smash a cake in their face on their first birthday, that wouldn’t meet their incredible sisters and that wouldn’t grow up in our home. I had just hours to capture memories that needed to last us a lifetime. Yes, I chose to take my own camera to the hospital on those unforgettable days. After all, they are my children and I wanted to capture what little time I had with them. It wasn’t easy, physically and emotionally!  When Grace was born I needed someone to prop me up because I was numb from the waist down (thank God for epiderals!). When Colton was born, it was 2 am and my eyes were going blurry from a long day of crying.  But those short hours needed to last me a lifetime, so I needed to capture all I could.

I told you, I’m not your average photographer. I don’t claim to be great or better than others; I simply capture life, whatever that life may be. Every picture has a story behind it, and I’m glad I get to share mine.

Carrizales Family

I love this family.  We met nearly 3 years ago at Calvary Church and I am so thankful we did.  They are some of the sweetest, family focused people I know and I love to capture them all!  Here is a mini-gallery from our recent session.

McKinley 2016

Scripture tells us that “Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.”  I have had the privilege of watching McKinley mature into a beautiful woman inside and out, as she is definitely one who fears the Lord.  She is a gem and a world changer.  Enjoy your senior year, McKinley!

Though I am a destination photographer, I was not able to join McKinley on vacation in the Keys.  The tropical/beach pictures you see are credited to her talented brother, Trey (I simply edited them)!

Here is a mini-gallery from our fun session!

Family Matters

“Family Matters”, anyone who lived through the 90’s remembers the great shows of TGIF that the family would gather to watch with Family Matters being one of them.  It was such a great title to a show but the concept behind it is even greater.  Family truly matters.  The Gilligan family is one of my favorite groups of people.  They love and respect each other as a family should.  It was easy to capture their family, and the smiles you see are genuine.  Here is just a glimpse of some photos from our shoot.
